For Whom

Parents Matter will impact primarily on (migrant) parents of students in vocational education; students; mentors and career advisors. The aim is to increase their involvement in guiding students towards new skills and new jobs with better knowledge and understanding of training systems and the labour market.

Aims and Objectives

Parents Matter aims to redress the issue of early school drop out by:

  • enhancing the role of (migrant) parents and careers advisors providing support to students in vocational training;
  • innovative methods and instruments from the good practices by the project partners;
  • stimulating and supporting the dialogue between (migrant) parents and students by the involvement of students, teaching staff, and migrant organisations in the concrete educational settings of the project's colleges;
  • strengthening the relationship between vocational training and society and between supply and demand in the labour market.
